Shamanic healing is a lifetime calling requiring a commitment to live, walk and honour a sacred path of connection to our natural world and the universal laws beyond. It is an incredible privilege to share shamanic healing with others. I walk this path with abundant love and gratitude for my ancestors, teachers and to Shamans everywhere who share their knowledge, healing and love.
Shamanic healing is a traditional form of healing that originates from indigenous cultures around the world. It is based on the belief that the physical and spiritual worlds are interconnected and that healing involves restoring balance and harmony within both realms.
I have been blessed to receive healing and learn from Shamans from a number of cultures, now having moved back to the UK I have completed my official Shamanic healing training with the incredible Jay and Kestrel Oakwood in Glastonbury.

When we meet we will take a little time to talk through the issues you'd like to focus on and the type of healing needed to help.
Intuitive Healing - In an intuitive healing session based on our discussions I use Shamanic healing techniques and sound to remove blockages, working on all layers of your being to allow flow to return and deep shifts to gently occur, this is a wonderful introduction to Shamanic healing.
Soul Retrieval - So often when we experience trauma aspects of our soul can become detached and remain stuck leaving us feeling lost, disjointed or disconnected to ourselves, others and our lives. Through a Shamanic soul retrieval those parts of us can be returned. This is a truly transformational experience which enables us to feel whole, gain clarity and be empowered by deep connection.
Regression - Similarly during our lives events the associated heavier emotional states weave into the moments of our story, lingering both in our bodies and in our broader fields of existence. This causes us to perpetuate negative patterns of thought and behaviours preventing us from living to our highest potential, blocking our innate gifts and interfering with the way in which we relate to ourselves, others and the world. A regression session can be a powerful journey to release and transmute these blocks so we can move forward free from the constraints of the past.
Chord Cutting - When we are struggling with a relationship ending, an attachment or with a continuing relationship which is causing us difficulties, a chord cutting session can be the perfect way for us to finally release and let go of an unhealthy or toxic attachment we have to another, a place, or even an object. This is a powerful and impactful process and it is only performed when genuinely necessary and appropriate.

What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes balance, relaxation, and holistic well-being. The word "Reiki" combines two Japanese words: Rei, meaning “universal” or “spiritual wisdom,” and Ki, meaning “life force energy.” Together, Reiki can be understood as "spiritually guided life force energy."
This life force energy flows through all living things, and when it becomes low, blocked, or imbalanced, it can lead to stress, illness, or emotional disharmony. Reiki helps restore the natural flow of energy, activating the body’s innate ability to heal itself — physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
How Does Reiki Work?
During a Reiki session, I serve as a channel for this universal energy, allowing it to flow through my hands into your energy field and physical body. You’ll remain fully clothed, typically lying comfortably on a massage table, as I place my hands gently on or just above specific areas of the body.
Reiki works subtly yet profoundly, addressing energetic imbalances that may be contributing to physical pain, emotional distress, fatigue, anxiety, or spiritual disconnection. Many people experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or deep calm during a session. Others may feel a gentle emotional release or a shift in perspective. Each experience is unique, and always guided by what your system most needs in the moment.
The Origins of Reiki – The Usui Tradition
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century, founded by Mikao Usui after a profound spiritual experience on Mount Kurama. Usui developed this method as a spiritual and healing practice, emphasizing simplicity, mindfulness, and connection to universal energy. His teachings have since been passed down through generations of Reiki practitioners around the world.
As a Reiki Master trained in the Usui method, I honor this lineage by upholding the traditional hand positions, symbols, and attunement practices, while also bringing intuitive insight and compassionate presence to each session. Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing how Reiki can be a deeply transformative force for clients seeking healing on many levels.

It can also be a beautiful complement to other healing modalities, including shamanic healing and sound therapy, which I also offer in my practice.

Everything in the universe including us vibrates at a natural frequency. When we experience stress, emotional blocks, or physical discomfort, these vibrations can fall out of harmony. Sound therapy helps bring the body back into alignment, creating space for healing and renewal.
Sound therapy is the enhanced use of specific sound to induce deep relaxation or an altered state of consciousness (ASC) and therapeutically help facilitate the processing and transmutation of pain, heavy emotions, thoughts and perceptions that are no longer of use to us.There are so many benefits to health and wellbeing that can be achieved with therapeutic sound and music including reduced stress, less anxiety, relief of muscle tension and physical pain as well as an increased sense of wellbeing, the release of emotional blockages and a more positive, peaceful mood.
I utilise several instruments including gongs, crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, percussion, drums and more.
Sound has been used by humans for thousands of years to heal, transcend and to unify, in more recent times modern science is discovering new applications for sound and the vast potential it holds for healing the human body and mind.
The natural rhythms and sounds in our magnificent world are my inspiration. I am a fully qualified Sound Therapist with a Diploma from the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) and member of the International Therapeutic Sound Association.
Each session is a soothing journey inward. You’ll lie comfortably, surrounded by calming sounds and gentle guidance. There's no effort required, just a willingness to relax, receive, and reconnect with your natural state of harmony.
As part of the experience, I offer guided meditations designed to deepen your connection to yourself and enhance the healing effects of sound. These meditations support you in gently releasing what no longer serves you, grounding your energy, and cultivating peace from within. Whether you’re new to meditation or experienced, the guidance helps you fully relax and receive.
I offer Sound Healing, Sound Baths, Drum Journeys and bespoke Sound events to groups or on a one to one basis. I am available for private functions, festivals, wedding parties, cooperate events and any other groups that wish to experience the deeply healing and relaxing wonders of sound. ​​​​​​​​​​​There are some contraindications to working with Sound so before booking a session please make sure Sound Healing or Sound Therapy sessions are right for you at this time and take a few moments to read below.
Contraindications For Sound Healing
Pregnancy: At this time I do not currently treat women who are in their first trimester of pregnancy or less than three months pregnant. Whilst there is no evidence that Sound Therapy could harm your unborn child I adhere to the ethical guidelines of The International Therapeutic Sound Association who suggests it is best not to treat women in early pregnancy. Once you are into your second trimester please refer back to my website for dates and venues. Thank you and congratulations.

Seizures: It is unlikely that the sound frequencies from a sound bath would trigger a seizure, however if you suffer from grand mal/tonic conic seizures I recommend you do a one to one Sound Therapy session, if your seizures are mild and occasional please let me know before the session if there are any instances of sound triggering them and if so what type of sound it was. If you choose to come to the session please bring a friend who can take you outside should you start to experience any pre seizure indicators. Thank you.

Serious Mental Health Conditions: It is inadvisable at this time for anyone suffering from a serious mental health condition to attend a Sound Therapy session outside of residential facilities, this is due to the deep state of relaxation being induced and the possibility it may cause imagery to appear behind closed eyes as well as the reflective element of Sound Therapy. If you have been diagnosed with any of the above conditions but are taking medication and/or have not been experiencing any symptoms for several months please contact me at thephoenixascension@yahoo.com or call 07496 046 174 so we can talk a little more and establish whether Sound Therapy might be useful for you at this current time. Below a couple of mini sound baths, these have been recorded with loving intention and are designed to illicit a gentle healing, they can be listened to before, during or after meditation to enhance and deepen the experience. Please listen with headphones, sit or lie somewhere comfortable, relax and enjoy.
CACAO CEREMONIES
Cacao is an ancient plant medicine first used by the Aztec, Mayan and Olmec peoples of South America over five thousand years ago. Cacao was used ritually at important life ceremonies, to connect with the heart, the spirit and the divine. In my practice of Cacao ceremonies outside of their original lands I honour with reverence and gratitude the traditional custodians of Cacao for sharing their innate wisdom with the world, the incredible Shamans who discovered its many physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing properties, the plant spirit and our amazing Earth Mother.
Ceremonial Cacao comes from cacao beans grown, nurtured and minimally processed with loving intention. It is the purest form of chocolate and differs greatly from cocoa powder or the chocolate we are generally more familiar with, both of which have undergone further processing and have been combined with other ingredients. Cacao contains B - complex vitamins, Iron, calcium, magnesium and theobromine which is a stimulant responsible for expanding blood vessels allowing for better oxygenation in the blood. It also contains caffeine and neurotransmitters such as Anandamide known as the bliss molecule as well as the essential amino acid Tryptophan which helps us to build muscle, sleep well, produce serotonin and aids in the relief of anxiety.
The plant genus is referred to scientifically as theobroma, this translates as 'food of the gods'.
Ceremonial Cacao is often a heart opening experience which can connect you to both the spiritual and physical feelings of bliss and the divine, it can help you to identify and clear emotional or spiritual blocks and can clarify your mind, bringing you the focus and energy needed to move forward.
I source my Cacao ethically from a single organic origin in South America giving grace and proper compensation to the farmers who share their love and work extremely hard keeping these magical plants alive and bringing us the best possible Cacao.
The myriad of health and spiritual benefits brought to us by this sacred and revered plant are well documented.

There are some contraindications to ingesting Cacao, whilst it is not psychoactive or psychedelic it can have a few side effects for some. Please see below before booking a ceremony to make sure Cacao is right for you.
Contraindications for Cacao: If you are currently taking any form of antidepressant Cacao is unfortunately not suitable for you at this time as it interferes with the chemicals present in your medication.
Due to the active ingredients in Cacao including theobromine and caffeine BEFORE joining or booking a ceremony please seek written consent from your medical professional if you suffer from: Diabetes, cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrythmias, hepatic impairments, renal impairment, high cholesterol, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal disease, heart conditions, regular migraines, seizures, increased anxiety or you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Without written consent from your medical professional it would be unethical of me to allow you to ingest Cacao.

Last night’s Full Moon Soundbath was for me, a deeply magical and cleansing experience.
Magical in the sense that this mind, body and spirit of mine passed through a beautiful and delightful passage of timelessness that is indeed remote from everyday life. The sound vibrations and waves passing through felt as though every atom of this entity was being thoroughly cleansed.
Mystical and supernatural forces were at work healing and providing insight into truths that are way beyond the intellect to express in words.

These terms and conditions ("Agreement") set forth the general terms and conditions of your use of www.phoenixascension.com website ("Website" or "Service") and any of its related products and services (collectively, "Services"). This Agreement is legally binding between you ("User", “Client” "You" or "Your") and Jennifer Kershaw, trading as Phoenix Ascension ("Jennifer Kershaw or Phoenix Ascension", “Therapist”, “I” “me”, “she”, “her” or "my"). By accessing and using the website and any related services provided by Jennifer Kershaw trading as Phoenix Ascension with email address thephoenixascension@yahoo.com; telephone number (07496046174) (the Supplier, Therapist or me, I, she, her).
you acknowledge that you have read, fully understand and agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement and are in agreement with the privacy policy. If you are entering into this Agreement on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you must have the authority to bind such entity to this Agreement, in which case the terms "User", "you" or "your" shall refer to such entity. You are acknowledging that whilst you have not physically signed this Agreement it is an electronic contract between You and Jennifer Kershaw. If you do not agree with any of the terms of this Agreement you must not accept the agreement or place any bookings for services.
Jennifer Kershaw is a qualified Sound Therapist with a Diploma in Group Sound Therapy, a member of the International Sound Therapy Association, holds a Level 3 certificate in Counselling and is a qualified Reiki Master. She holds professional liability insurance and is fully DBS checked.
Therapist commitment
My commitment is to work to the best of my ability for the highest good of each and every client and maintain professional and ethical working practices, abiding by the Codes of Conduct as set out by my professional and regulatory bodies. Your safety is always my highest priority, treatments will only proceed if the treatment is deemed safe for the client to receive as per the guidelines for each treatment specified in all sections of the website. If any GP or Consultant permission is required, the Client will be requested to provide this in writing before treatments are received or events attended. I uphold a confidential experience for all Clients, there are however limits to this confidentiality. If you were to discuss seriously wanting to harm yourself or others, or any safeguarding issues around children I may be obliged to break confidentiality but You and I would discuss this first. I offer a fully inclusive and open service and welcome the LGBTQ+ community and anyone wishing to receive and experience healing.
Client Commitment
All healing Clients are required to complete a consent form. All sound therapy/healing Clients are required to read and adhere to the list of contraindications and sign a consent form confirming their suitability for sound therapy. All Clients participating in Cacao ceremonies are required to read and adhere to the list of contraindications for Cacao and sign a consent form confirming their suitability for Cacao. The Client agrees to provide accurate and clear information regarding their health and to inform the Therapist should their medical information change.
Payment
Payment for healing it to be made either via Square at the time of the treatment or in cash, payments for Sound therapy/healing events and Cacao ceremonies are to be made via the booking system prior to attending the event. Refunds for prepaid, Client cancelled or missed healing appointments or events are given depending on the circumstance and are at the Therapists discretion. There are no refunds for healing appointments which have been attended, Sound therapy/healing events attended, or Cacao ceremonies that have been attended. Special private events or bookings are to be secured with a deposit payable directly to the Therapist and the total amount agreed is due prior to the event taking place.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law. The Therapist will only be liable for direct loss up to a maximum total of the price of the treatments purchased by the Client in respect of any legal claim.
The Therapist shall not be liable for any loss or injury attributable to: the Client’s fault or a third party unconnected with the provision of services provided by your Therapist; or events which your Therapist could have foreseen or forestalled, even if she had taken reasonable care. The Therapist is not liable for loss or damage to your property when doing healings in your home or elsewhere including venues hired or utilised for any therapies or events offered. The Therapist is not liable if at any time you fail to disclose with prior knowledge any contraindicated health concern specified for each therapy on the website, or ignore her recommendation to seek medical advice. The Therapist is not liable for any unlikely emotional, mental or physical reactions to the treatments, therapies or healings but she will endeavour to help the Client through any such challenges and, or refer the Client to medical professionals. We do not exclude liability for: (i) any fraudulent act or omission; or (ii) death or personal injury caused by negligence or breach of the Supplier's/Therapist’s other legal obligations. Subject to this, we are not liable for (i) loss which was not reasonably foreseeable to both parties at the time when the Contract was made, or (ii) loss (eg loss of profit) to your business, trade, craft or profession. Jennifer Kershaw is fully insured and holds professional liability insurance to practice Sound Therapy, Reiki, Crystal Healing, Shamanic Healing and to practice as a Student Counsellor.
